INTEGRATING MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION TO ENHANCE STUDENT WELL-BEING IN CO-EDUCATIONAL SCHOOLS
As adolescents grow, their psychological development transitions from immaturity to maturity, often accompanied by inner conflicts and emotional turbulence. Without timely guidance, these psychological challenges can escalate into more severe mental health issues, negatively affecting both academic performance and personal well-being. Mental health education plays a vital role in addressing these concerns by leveraging psychological theories and educational practices tailored to students' developmental stages. This educational approach aims to cultivate emotional resilience, enhance coping mechanisms, and foster positive psychological traits. By focusing on preventive strategies and early intervention, mental health education not only alleviates negative emotions but also promotes the balanced and harmonious development of students’ mental and physical health. This paper emphasizes the necessity of incorporating mental health education into school curricula, particularly in co-educational settings, to support the holistic growth of students during this critical phase of life.
