Scholars such as Adebayo (1986), Iroanusi (2006), and Ijalaye (2009) have documented the prevalence of corruption in Nigerian politics. Additionally, Philips (1993) notes the concerning trend of prostitution gaining a degree of societal acceptance, mirroring other pressing social issues.
