EMPLOYEE RETENTION AND PERFORMANCE: THE CHALLENGES OF LABOR TURNOVER IN NIGERIA

The study empirically examined the effect of labour turnover on organizational performance. The Specific objectives were to: examine the effect of dismissal on organizational performance, to investigate the effect of job security on organizational performance; and to ascertain the effect of redeployment on organizational performance. Data were primarily sourced using questionnaire instrument and simple regression statistical tool was employed in this study. Based on the findings, the study revealed that dismissal had a negative and significant effect on organizational performance, Job security had a positive and a significant effect on organizational performance and Redeployment had a positive and significant effect on organizational performance. The study recommended that management of organizations should have a strategy to remunerating their staff in order to have a positive labour turnover.
