The Journal of Medical Technology and Innovation reports advances where engineering, computing, and the life sciences converge to improve health. Our scope spans biomedical engineering, medical devices and instrumentation, digital health, and the data-driven technologies transforming diagnosis, treatment, and care delivery.

We welcome research on medical devices and sensors, imaging and diagnostic technologies, telemedicine and connected care, health informatics and clinical artificial intelligence, and rehabilitation and assistive technologies. Studies that validate new technologies in clinical or real-world settings, and that consider usability, safety, and equity of access, are of particular interest.

Each manuscript is reviewed for technical rigour, clinical relevance, and the strength of its evidence for real benefit to patients or health systems. Through open access the journal aims to speed the responsible translation of innovation from prototype to practice, serving biomedical engineers, clinicians, informaticians, and the multidisciplinary teams driving the future of healthcare technology.

We publish original research, device and system development studies, clinical validations, and critical reviews of emerging health technologies. Work that demonstrates real benefit and considers usability, safety, and equitable access is particularly welcome. Available open access, the journal serves biomedical engineers, clinicians, informaticians, and innovators, speeding the responsible movement of medical technology from prototype to bedside and into the everyday delivery of care.
