Aims & Scope

Interdisciplinary research on sustainability, from renewable energy to responsible society.

The Sustainability Journal publishes interdisciplinary research on how societies can meet present needs without compromising the future. Our scope brings together the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability, from clean-energy systems and resource efficiency to responsible business and equitable development.

We welcome studies on renewable energy, the circular economy, climate-change mitigation and adaptation, environmental management, and green innovation, as well as work on corporate social responsibility, ESG performance, and sustainable policy and governance. Both technical and social-science contributions are within scope, and we particularly value research that integrates perspectives to tackle real sustainability challenges.

Each manuscript is evaluated for scientific or analytical rigour, interdisciplinary relevance, and its contribution to sustainable practice and policy. By publishing open access, the journal aims to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially responsible economy, serving researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers committed to long-term environmental and societal well-being.

We welcome original research, applied case studies, modelling work, and integrative reviews that cross the environmental, economic, and social pillars of sustainability. Interdisciplinary contributions addressing real-world transitions are especially valued. Published open access, the journal reaches researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers in government, business, and civil society, accelerating the shift toward low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially responsible systems that safeguard well-being for present and future generations.
