THE IMPACT OF PHYSIOTHERAPY ON CHILDREN WITH PHYSICAL AND HEALTH IMPAIRMENTS

The study sought to investigate into the importance of physiotherapy on the physically and health impaired children (PHIC). The study was carried out at Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, Oyo State, Nigeria and the population used consisted of PHIC. Twenty (20) PHIC were randomly recruited from 100 – 300 levels of the School of Special Education for the study. 40% were males while 60% were females and their age ranges from 19 – 30 years. A 20 item structured questionnaire was designed and validated was used to collect data from participants. Frequency count of responses was done and simple percentages were used to analyze the data collected. Findings from the study revealed that physiotherapy is very important on the life of PHIC and it was also discovered that physiotherapy plays a major role in improving the life of the PHIC
