DISTRIBUTED DATABASE SYSTEMS: AN IN-DEPTH MODEL AND FRAMEWORK
A Database is a collection of structured data describing the activities of one or more related organizations with a specific defined
purpose. Databases are controlled by Database Management System by maintaining and utilizing large collections of data. A
Distributed Database is a collection of multiple, logically organized databases distributed over a Computer Network. It is also a
collection of databases that can be stored at different computer network sites. This work presents an overview of Distributed
Database System: explaining why we distribute, what we distribute, and how we distribute. This paper classified distributed
database objects, stated various strategies for distribution and proposed a standard mathematical model for understanding,
interpreting and implementing the distributed database design method.
