Assertiveness is a vital skill that enables individuals to communicate effectively, express their needs, and maintain healthy interpersonal boundaries. This competency is particularly important during young adulthood, a developmental stage characterized by preparation for adult roles and responsibilities. Being assertive allows young adults to convey their thoughts and feelings confidently while respecting others, fostering positive social interactions and collaborative environments. Research indicates that assertiveness contributes to enhanced communication skills, which can positively influence academic performance and overall personal development. By expressing concerns and needs clearly, young adults can minimize misunderstandings, improve relationships with peers, teachers, and colleagues, and create a supportive learning environment. The present study explores the influence of family support and self-mastery on assertive behavior in young adults, highlighting the interplay between social and personal factors in promoting effective communication and academic success.
