Abstract

<p>This paper investigates the impact of the impact of a i on the future of work and the gig economy in Nigeria. While AI technologies have the potential to improve efficiency and productivity in various industries, they also raise concerns about job displacement and the need for upskilling and retraining. In the gig economy, AI may create new opportunities for freelance workers, but it also has the potential to further exacerbate income inequality. The manuscript found that It is crucial for policymakers, businesses, and workers in Nigeria to proactively address these challenges and leverage the potential of AI to create a more inclusive and sustainable future of work. Embracing AI responsibly and with a focus on equity and exclusivity will be essential for shaping a positive future for the gig economy and work in Nigeria.
