Open Access Policy

Columbia Journal of Medical Research and Practice is a fully open access journal, providing immediate, free availability of all published articles to readers worldwide. We believe that removing access barriers accelerates research progress and maximizes the impact of scientific findings.

What is Open Access?

Open access means that all published articles are freely available online to read, download, and share without subscription fees or other barriers. Columbia Journal of Medical Research and Practice implements the gold open access model where articles are made immediately available upon publication.

Author Retention of Rights

Unlike traditional publishing models, authors publishing in Columbia Journal of Medical Research and Practice retain copyright of their work while granting the journal a license to publish. Authors are free to:

  • Share with colleagues without restrictions

Funding and Sustainability

Columbia Journal of Medical Research and Practice is supported through article processing charges (APCs) paid by authors or their institutions. Waivers or discounts are available for authors from low-income countries or those experiencing financial hardship.
